Someone good did finally come out of Nazareth. Contrary to public opinion, the promised Messiah showed up there. Our prejudice keeps us from seeing God in places where He is very present. We think He cannot be present and working with some people, when in fact, He is. He is not only present with the “better folks”; He is present with the poor and lowly. He works on both sides of the border; you can’t shut Him out. He even works in places we shun and will not enter. As you walk with Him, keep looking for Him in all places. He will surprise you in what He does and how He shows up.
“Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” And Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” John 1:45–46 (NASB)
