We want to be perceived as having it all together, in some kind of perfect way.  We can beat ourselves up when we don’t.  We can blame others for doing things that make us react in imperfect ways.  Perfectionism can be frustrating, debilitating, and depressing.  No matter how good we did, it is never good enough.  Cut yourself some slack!  Remember, God loves us in spite of our shortcomings.  Receiving grace should be a humble confession that we need something from God and others that we cannot supply with our own performance.

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NASB)
