The best counseling and therapy does not always rid us of our inner pain.  We may find that we do not do well when we merely fight this pain.  When we protest it, we do not always find peace.  There is a way of embracing pain in brokenness.  When we make pain a prayer, we become one with the Suffering Servant.  In this, we find a way through.  It has a way of shaping us with a deep humility.  In this way, our pain may become a gift to ourselves and those we love.

“Help, GOD—the bottom has fallen out of my life! Master, hear my cry for help!” Psalm 130:1 (MSG)
