“Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge” (James 4:11 ESV). We are not to slander or speak evil of our brothers and sisters. Such condescending attitudes toward our neighbor hinder us drawing near to the Father. Besides, these are His children too and it is not our place to judge them as being unworthy of the family. As a doer of the law we are to love our brothers and sisters. The One who looks on your brother’s heart also looks at your heart; it would pay not to forget that.
