Jesus was a person of prayer. He was in constant communication with His Father on what He should do and say. If the Son of God so depended on His Father, so should we. Spending time with the Father enables us to hear the heartbeat of God; we hear the heartbeat of God clearer in the person and work of Jesus Christ more than any other way. That comes by prayerful dependance on our Lord. When we follow Him to the place of prayer we will join Him in His present heavenly intercession for us and all humanity.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him…” (Mark 1:35-36 NIV)
