Without following Christ we can never be what we were meant to be. We have often heard it said, “There is a God shaped void in us that only God can fill.” But may we remember that God is the God who is revealed in Jesus. Only the Christ of God can fill that void; the pursuit of Christlikeness tends to fill our life with Jesus. Pastor John Parrish recently reminded us in a devotional that when Peter denied the Lord, he denied himself; he denied what he was meant to be. When we do not follow the Lord, and end up following other things, we nix our life purpose, we destroy the very person we were designed to become. He is not just an optional way for you, He is the only Way you can be what you were intended to be. Ways and roads must be followed.
Jesus said to them, “Follow me and I will make you…” (Mark 1:17)
