We like the old roads. The ones with which we are most comfortable. The ones with familiar and heartwarming sights. Yet, we are often called to travel a new road when the old one will not get us where we must go. Our Guide delights in preparing us for new roads and doing new things. We need that for our growth and progress. He knows how to make a road through a barren place. He knows how to make rivers flow in the desert. Trust Him!
“Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” Isaiah 43:18-19 (NRSV)
