There is something in us that wants to name all the ways in which we have been mistreated, abused or neglected. We want all to know the price we have to pay for living in the world. We want to name all the ones who have hurt us. Jesus did not open His mouth to name it. When we name it, we relive its pain and may nourish the wound as a victim. Let it go. Take up His cross. Embrace His attitude. Do not give it space in your mind or open your mouth to name it. Release it the way Jesus did.
“He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.” Isaiah 53:7 (NKJV)
