Alone is a terrible place to be. Yet, when Jesus left the disciples, He said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you. I will be with you to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). He fulfilled this promise by giving the the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ Himself. There is a loneliness that can be banished by another loving person. But there is an aloneness that can only be cured by companionship with our Lord Himself. No, you are not alone! Paul said, “He is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17:27). Open your heart to Him. Have conversation with Him. Embrace His Presence. Rejoice in your Companion.
