When Jesus said, “I am the way”, He did not say it so we, who know, could use it as a bully club to beat up on the ones who do not know. It is a grand invitation, a winsome mystery. It is a road map to help us avoid detours to the Father. It is a highway that keeps us out of fruitless ways of knowing God; it keeps us out of the ditch. We need to let the next two things He said be a commentary on the first: He is the truth about God; He possesses the life of God. Let your life be saturated with His Life and Truth and put up your bully club.
“Jesus said* to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6 NASB)
