There is a mystery that runs through life and through every human heart waiting to be embraced. This mystery is the hidden Christ. No one knew it, but He was the Rock out of which God quenched the thirst of Israel in the wilderness (I Corinthians 10:4). He was hidden in the symbols and types of the OT. He is also Grace working in the hearts of those who do not yet know Him. The gospel message must be proclaimed so that the hidden Christ will be openly received and confessed by Christian baptism.
“The mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:26-27 (NASB)
