“My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me” Psalm 63:8 (ESV). The hand of God that grips us is the hand of grace. It is extended to us in pity and mercy. It reaches down in love. It is a strong and powerful hand. The hand with which we cling to God is the hand of faith and hope. Sometimes we hold to Him out of sheer desperation, out of necessity, for we have no other such Refuge. When we embrace Him in love, we experience the loving embrace of our Father.
