In speaking to the church community Paul said, “Let love be genuine…Love one another with mutual affection” (Romans 12:9a, 10a). Genuine love is more than an outward word; it must flow from a heart that truly loves. The church community needs this. The church community must cultivate and practice this authentic love. There is a deep hunger in peoples’ lives to experience the genuine, the authentic. The instruction is that it be mutual and that it be genuine.
