The people we serve have a way of blessing and deepening our own lives. How often have we been ministered to by the very ones to whom we were seeking to minister. Sometimes fatigue may eclipse that and we may be tempted to despair. Don’t give up. Instead, think about how your life has been blessed by other people and do not focus on how someone hurt you. Think of how you have been enriched by truly good people, saints of the Lord, the ones who became lights of inspiration on your own path. Hold them in the memory of your heart. Let them inspire you one more time. Let them know if they are still around.
Lord, we would not be where we are today without people who have blessed us on our journey. Some we have met, and some were laying paths of influence before we were born. Thank You Lord for this wonderful heritage in which we participate. Amen!
