The Messiah is revealed in the Word. The Scriptures are given for the grand purpose of pointing us to Messiah and His redemption (Jn 5:39). The two Emmaus disciples began to see Him in the Word before He was revealed to them in the breaking of bread. Jesus wanted the Word to be preparatory for seeing. Read the written Word! Look for Jesus, the Living Word, in it! The Spirit who inspired the Word will help you see Jesus there.
“They said to one another, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?’” Luke 24:32 (NASB).
