“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Matthew 5:27–28 ESV). Affairs keep proliferating in our culture. Affairs are always bigger than the two people; it hurts spouses, children, neighbors, churches, and society as a whole. It is not merely private. David said, “Against You and You only have I sinned and done this evil in Your sight (See Psalm 51). David’s sin involved God and lots of other people; adultery still does. It involves “Me, You and God”.
