The Father, Son, and Spirit function exists in a community of agape love. Each yearns for the other. The Father has poured out His Spirit in our hearts through His Son, the same Spirit with Whom He is in communion. He has placed His Spirit in us to invite us into His community for union with Him. He yearns for our fellowship. He yearns for us as a groom for His bride. His Spirit in us connects us to our Abba Father. We are to love Him and not the world; we are not to fall into that adulterous affair.
“You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? (James 4:4–5 ESV)
