1. Belief in Christ: “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him”. (1 John 1:5:1 ESV)
  2. Loving each other and obeying Jesus’ words: “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments.  For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.” (1 John 1:5:1 ESV). “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God” (1 John 4:7 ESV).
  3. Overcoming the world: “Those born of God overcome the world (1 John 1:5:4).
  4. The born of God practice righteousness and cease the practice of willful sin for he or she carries the Father’s DNA:  Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” (1 John 3:7–12 ESV).  “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed (sperma) abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God” (1 John 3:9 ESV).
  5. Eternal Life is the promise to those born of God:  I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13 ESV).
