Several years ago I heard a speaker say, “God does not need us to lie for Him”.  In our defense of God, we can overstate or misrepresent Him.  We claim a miracle when none occurred.  We talk about how great our life is, for fear that something else said might not be a good witness for Him.  We testify about how the Lord solved all of our problems but do not tell of satanic attacks that fall on the followers of Jesus.  Following Jesus creates a whole new set of problems.  Truth is big enough to stand on truth.  Truth cannot be propped up by untruth or exaggerations.  Sharing your struggles may help a fellow struggler.  It might even keep them from falling.

“In my early Christian life, I would not have struggled so much if people had not lied when they testified.”  T. W. Willingham
