Jesus quoted the OT and said, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39).  As yourself!  What does that mean?  For starters, you want them to succeed as you want yourself to succeed.  You want all their needs met as you want all of your needs met.  You do not want to be met with prejudgment, sarcasm, arrogance or negative darts, so put all of that aside and love unconditionally.  Remember, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” is really rooted in “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
