Learning to live with your losses is as important as learning to live with your successes.  We had a hand full of sand and the tide washed it away.  Our carefully constructed castles were lapped up by life’s waves.  We had hopes that were devastated and dreams that did not come to pass.  We made plans that were changed by another’s choices.  How we deal with these things is important.  It can build fortitude, determination and character.  It can rearrange our priorities and get the fluff out of our lives.  In this way our losses become gains.

“Now I’m glad—not that you were upset, but that you were jarred into turning things around. You let the distress bring you to God, not drive you from him. The result was all gain, no loss.” 2 Corinthians 7:9 (MSG)
