How do you lose your way? Turn to your own way. Follow any path that presents itself to you. Choose ease and comfort; neglect truth and justice. Follow impulses, appetites and peers. Be swept along by the streams of the surrounding culture. Reject discipline. Neglect the wisdom of those who have gone before. Be self-sufficient and unteachable. Those who have lost their way can find their way. How do you find your way? Watch the road markers. Listen to those who have already traveled this way. Learn the difference between truth and opinions. Be humble and teachable. Make the One whose name is Way the One you follow. He can bring you out of darkness into Light, out of bondage into freedom, out of despair into hope.
“The Lord … your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will behold your Teacher. Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.” (Isaiah 30:20b-21 NASB)
