Life is empty without Christ filling this present moment. It is drudgery without the knowledge of Presence. It is sadness not yet walking with joy. It walks in grief as the two Emmaus’ disciples did, not knowing that Resurrection was walking with them. The Jews looked back to salvation in the Exodus. Some only see salvation as future eschatology. The resurrection of Jesus has declared, “Now is the day of salvation!” Walking with Him saves the moments and makes each moment saving. Walking with Resurrection changes the tense of hope from future to present as “living hope” (1 Peter 1:3).
For he says, “At an acceptable time I have listened to you, and on a day of salvation I have helped you.” See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation! 2 Corinthians 6:2b (NRSV)
