Listening and hearing are not the same. Listening may catch words, but hearing catches the heart of what is being said. We often use words in inexact ways. We can only express ideas with the analogies and symbols that have been handed to us. These are limited, even when it comes to words about God and theological truths. In Jesus Christ we are invited to hear God and not just words on a page. Let us sit at the feet of Jesus until we hear what He is really saying.
