To be like your Teacher is to be fully committed to His teachings. He teaches you, not just by His words written in red, and please don’t neglect them, but He teaches you by every human encounter recorded of His life; we learn by how He interacted with people in His path. He teaches you by His prayer life; He was in constant communion with His Father for all He taught and did. His teachings most often run counter to our thoughts and ways; they are more counter-cultural than we have concluded. We do not get hold of them in a single session; there is a lifetime of hearing and readjusting our lives to what He is saying.
