The goal of discipleship is to be like Jesus. “It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher” (Matthew 10:25a NASB). We cannot be like Him until we reject ready-made molds all around us. In fact, we have already been imprinted and molded in ways that are unlike Him. It is hard to unlearn these ways; they have become deeply ingrained in us. It is hard to change non-Christian ways of thinking that are constantly reinforced by the culture at large. We are not fully Christian until we do. Being like Jesus is light years ahead of merely being called Christian. Which choice are you living?
