“Do you want to get well?” is what Jesus said to the man who had been in his condition for 38 years (John 5:6). This man had lost the will to be better. He had accepted his plight. Jesus is trying to stir something in his heart by His question. Jesus wants to release us from what holds us back. We must want what He wants for us. But more than that, we must have a Power enter our lives that is greater than the power of self-help or determination. Our restoration will be a God thing!
Lord, we have been a long time where we are. You have entered our lives to bring us to a new location. May we never get accustomed to where we are when You are calling us to a better place in You. Amen!
