The disciples left all and followed Him. We want to follow Him without leaving anything. We want to shape Christ in ways that cost us very little. The call to discipleship is a call to leave some things behind. We walk away from all things that conflict with giving our Lord our all. We give up the lesser for the best. Life with a new Center prompts the leaving. Because of our love for Him we do not even see it as sacrifice.
“After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth; and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up, left everything, and followed him.” Luke 5:27-28 (NRSV)
