Suffering is not easy. It does help if we learn how to suffer. Without complaint. With patience. With perseverance. With humility. Like Jesus. Identify with all who have suffered before you. Identify with those around the world who even now experience greater sufferings than yours. Identify with the sufferings of your rejected Messiah. It is what joint-heirs do. It will bring a deeper acceptance of Him. Further, it becomes real knowledge of Him as you enter “the fellowship of His suffering” (Phil 3:10).
“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:17-18 (KJV)
