Thank God for your job this Labor Day. Thank Him for health and energy to actually work. Labor allows us to feed our families, and, as Saint Paul said, “He must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.” Ephesians 4:28 (NASB). Yes, we are to work, not only to meet our own needs but to have something to give. That too is a way of expressing gratitude for a job.
“There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink and tell himself that his labor is good. This also I have seen that it is from the hand of God. For who can eat and who can have enjoyment without Him?” Ecclesiastes 2:24-25 (NASB)
