“Jesus said, ‘I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God…As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’ And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit’” (John 20:17b, 21b-22 NIV). Whatever He did in the world is what we are supposed to be doing in the world. Whatever He was concerned about, He is still concerned about. We are here commissioned to do His business. We are just as sent as Jesus was sent. “As He is so are we in the world” (1 John 4:17). We need the Holy Spirit as much as He needed the Holy Spirit. He finished His work. “I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.” (John 17:4 NKJV).
Lord Jesus, may I do what You have called me to do and do it well. May I not disappoint you, Oh Lord and Master. Amen!
