“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you” (John 15:15 NIV).  The Master’s business!  He has let us in on it;  He does this so that we can fully participate in it.  He does have a mission for us in this kind of world.  He is Lord of the whole world; He is the rightful King of it.  His business is not to take it by force but by ambassadors who live out His unconditional love to all, even those who oppose His rule.  We cannot carry out that assignment without inward change ourselves.  We cannot love this way unless “the love of God be shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.”
