Does your joy have glory in it? Is there something in it beyond your immediate happiness? Is this joy with you in spite of your circumstances? Does your joy have in it an element of unexplainable mystery and inexpressible words? Peter spoke of joy with glory in it. Glory, the manifest presence of God, not only hovers over us and around us, it is in us by the Holy Spirit. In the Kingdom of God we have “peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Rom 14:17). The presence of God’s glory in us is the real secret of our joy.
“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9 (NASB)
