“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit” Matthew 1:20 (NASB). He hears God speak at least four times (Matthew 1:20; 2:13, 19, 22). Joseph’s revelations came over a period of years. Hearing God was a life-pattern for Joseph. His life was directed by the God who speaks. May ours be so as well!
Lord, I pray that we would learn to tune out messages from the right and the left, so that we can hear and consider what you have to say. May we spend enough time with You and Your word to know Your voice. Having heard Your voice, enable us by Your grace to obey.
