If you have a Judas, treat him as Jesus did. Wash his feet. Give him the sop at the meal, something reserved for the honored guest. Treat him kindly. Make sure that you have love for the person. Love him until the end. Know your love can be rejected. Know that even demonic powers can be involved. Still love. Accept the betrayal. Commit the whole thing to your Father. Don’t let it embitter your spirit. Don’t let it turn you from your mission. In Jesus’ sweetness, let it go.
Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.” Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon. As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. “What you are about to do, do quickly,” Jesus told him. John 13:26-27 (NIV)
