The things Jesus did not say to the disciples after the resurrection: “You forsook me.” “You denied me.” “You did not pray with me”. Instead He spoke peace to them. It was peace that had an unasked-for forgiveness in it. It was peace driven by grace. It was peace without condemnation. It was not just spoken shalom; it was reinforced when He gave them the breath of the Spirit. There is something here that we disciples must learn if we would spread His peace. Giving peace to others in the same way Jesus gave peace to us is the core of being a true peacemaker.
