“When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, ‘Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.’” John 21:9-10 (ESV). The Risen Christ already had a meal of fish prepared, but He asked the disciples to bring some of what they had caught. When we show up for a Jesus encounter at worship, we bring something to the table. We contribute to our own nourishment. Oh, how much better our times of worship would be if each of us would bring our own catches to present to the Lord so He could prepare it, not just nourishment for our hungry souls, but amazing meals that we would delight in all week.
