There were many victims to the cruelty of Roman crucifixion. But there is One who died on a cross that transformed victim into victor. Rome came against Him in a crushing public way, believing by this that they were done with Him. They threw everything they had at Him, yet He turned it all into victory by His resurrection from the dead. “When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him” (Colossians 2:15 NASB). My brothers and sisters, when you are down and out, and it seems that your problems have won over you, remember Jesus’ triumph is the promise of yours; embrace your victory in Jesus.
