God dislocated Jacob’s hip in an encounter with the old shyster. I would rather know God and walk through life with a limp than to walk perfectly on my own. I would rather that He bring me to a place of brokenness. I would rather that He force me in a wrestling match to face myself and my God. I would rather come to the end of myself and my ways so I can walk in His way with a new name, even with a limp.
“Then Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until daybreak. When he saw that he had not prevailed against him, he touched the socket of his thigh; so the socket of Jacob’s thigh was dislocated while he wrestled with him….Now the sun rose upon him just as he crossed over Penuel, and he was limping on his thigh.
