It can only be well with our soul as we embrace what Jesus did for us on His cross. At the cross our old life ends and our new life begins. “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed” 1 Peter 2:24 (NASB). It is at the cross where we find healing from sin’s disease. It is there that we are made well. It is where wholeness begins.
My sin- O the bliss to this glorious thought
My sin- not in part, but the whole-
Is nailed to His cross, and I bear it no more!
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, O my soul!
It is well- with my soul
It is well, It is well with my soul.
