Some say that if you pray for patience you are just asking for trouble, because the Bible says “Tribulation works patience.” However tribulation is not the only way we get patience. Sometimes we get patience by stopping to look at the situation and thinking about what is going on. It is to listen to God and not our agenda. Patience comes with the fruit of the Spirit. Patience is something you must practice, work at, and yes, even pray for.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” Galatians 5:22-23a (NASB).
