We have not arrived yet; it is a journey. We are formed by how we travel it. We travel this way while looking to Jesus, while being in relationship with Him as our traveling companion. He is our goal, our mentor and our strength. He has put His Spirit in us to ensure our success. He is making us, transforming us, and renewing every part of us as we pursue Him. To pursue Him is to pursue, “wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30). He is both our goal now and at journey’s end.
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith…Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:1b-2a, 14 (NASB)
