We are where we are today largely because of other people. If we stand tall, it is because we are standing on the shoulders of those who went before us. We have nothing that we did not receive. What do you owe to parents, grandparents, teachers, neighbors, pastors, friends, mentors, fellow Christians, and classmates? Is there gratitude in your heart for them? Have you thanked them? Are you investing in others the same way others invested in you? Your devotion to Christ compels you to invest in others. It is time to pay back and pay forward.
“What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as if it were not a gift?” 1 Corinthians 4:7b (NRSV).
