“Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart”  Psalm 37:4 (NASB).  We have not always desired nor wanted the right things.  Nothing shows what we are more than what we desire.  The check to all of this is that we delight in the Lord.  If our true delight is in Him, it will change our desires and the petitions we put before Him.  If His words are abiding in us (John 15:7), it will change our asking.  It will keep our focus on Him and away from trinkets and immature asking.  It will cure selfish praying.  To seek His Kingdom first means He will take care of “all these things”. (Matthew 6:33).

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7 (NKJV)
