Jesus was crucified in injustice by His religious and political persecutors. Yet, He used that injustice to justify sinners. He was thrown away as a worthless thing; by the cross He goes looking for the lost and abandoned. He was witnessed against by those who bore false witness, yet that falseness revealed Him to be truth. They showed Him no mercy, but His cross is the greatest act of mercy and grace the world has ever seen. They all meant it for evil, but God who works good out of all things, declared it a sin offering by which evil persons could be made good. They did not have power to take His life, but He had power to lay it down.
