Jesus was human too!  The Son of God became the son of Adam.  He came to save us from our inhumanity.  He came to rescue us from our meanness to each other.  When we have lost our compassion and mercy, when we can see great suffering around us with little empathy or sympathy, when fellow humans are receiving the brunt of injustice and there is from us no righteous outcry for justice, are we yet human?  When we say that we love everybody, but that love has found no way to heal, help and restore, have we not diminished our own humanity?  Look at Jesus!  Behold the man!  Behold the fully human One!  Hear what He taught!  Do what He did!

Father, you made us human and declared it good.  You made us to be Your image bearers in creation.  This image became marred.  You sent Your Son to show us what we are to look like.  You sent Your Spirit to work out Your likeness in our lives.  Father may the pursuit of Your likeness be the driving aspiration of our living.  Then we shall be fully human.  Amen!
