We have experiences that we can’t explain. I heard a minister say, “We believe things that we cannot comprehend.” We put our feet in the ocean with little thought that someone on another shore, a thousand miles or more away is doing the same thing. Then between the two of us there are battle and cargo ships plowing the waters, fisherman making a living from it, scientists studying it and vacationers basking in it. We can’t get our mind around the ocean, neither can we get our mind around the greatness of God. What we know about God’s great universe is minuscule compared to the greatness of God Himself; eternity will be an ever increasing knowledge of Him. Move out into the deep, not controlling or trying to possess it all. Bask in Him; and in humility, celebrate the Mystery. “Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:14 ESV)
“That their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; when He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.” (Colossians 2:2-3, 9-10,15 NASB)
