“Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” (John 17:25–26 NIV). Jesus takes up residence in our hearts in order to fill us with the same love that existed in the Trinity before ever the world was formed (John 17:24). Father, Son, and Spirit, One God, are a community of love. This love not only draws us, it has come to dwell in our inmost being; it has come to be enthroned in our hearts. When it dwells in us, and is expressed among us and through us, it is a witness to the world that the Father has sent Jesus (17:21). The example of a community bound together in true Trinitarian love, and individual disciples in-dwelt by that love, is Jesus’ plan for evangelism. It is what draws people to Jesus.
