“Humble yourselves…your adversary is seeking to devour you” (I Peter 5:6, 8). Included in this exhortation is to “cast your anxieties on Him…your adversary is seeking to devour you” (v. 7-8). Is not this warning us that pride and anxiety is a crack in the door through which the devil can gain a foothold in our lives. Humility and total trust of our situation to the Lord is a way to gain victory over the enemy of our soul.
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:6-8 (ESV)
