We want to do certain things so God is obligated to bless us. This turns Christianity into a Baal fertility/prosperity cult. We get upset with God because He does not respond in the ways we want Him to respond. God responds as He chooses. Our Father acts on His wisdom when it comes to our God-do list. We should approach Him in humble worship in our asking. We humbly bow to Him and let Him be God without trying to determine His actions.
